The class went over general things about the shop and the classroom.
Week of the 15th of August
Today we Filmed the safety video.
Week 3
Monday August 22 Today we Reviewed the rules and read over the rules for the wednesday challenge.
Tuesday August 23
We debated over Ideas and went over rules for the jpl challenge.

Wednesday August 24
Today we worked on our speghetti bridge. We came up with the plan to make a bridge out of woodglue and then put speghetti on top to make it qualify.
Thursday August 25
Today we Worked on a powerpoint for presenting the jpl challenge to the class tomorrow.
Friday August 26
Mr Wilton came to the class to review our progress on the jpl challenge and give his insight on our plans.
Week 4
Monday August 29
Today we decided on the list of possible ideas for the jpl challenge. The list is now Kevin arm, trash truck, overhead track and gimble. NMost of the vote have gone to the kevin arm which is basically a malfuntioning catapult.
Tuesday August 30
Today we worked on the wednesday challenge and we really tryed to get our bridge done. although it didnt dry in time we used a fail safe that made sure we didnt come in last.
Wednesday August 31
Today we finished up the our last bridge for competition tomorrow

Today we tested our failsafe and didnt get zero which i was fine with. wc1

Week 5
Tuesday September 6
first day back from a four day weekend and we just went over how to make a wednesday challenge form.
Wednesday September 7
Today we wenet into the shop and went over the rules for the jpl challenge.
Thursday September 8
Today I had to work on changing my links so that my website worked because i had really no time to write anything or do anything to the website since jpl takes up almost all of the time we have.
Friday September 9
Today Mr Wilton was here so we went over our progress in the jpl challenge and Presented what we have been doing for hte last two weeks.
Week 6
Monday September 12
Working on the JPL invention challenge again today, Dr.Neat gave us some advice to work and focus on the design of the funnel. So far we just have more then one sketchup going so that we can adjust them all later, so far we are making lots of progress. Mr.Miller was missing today although to sub was not as bad as some of the others.
Tuesday September 13
Today we set up tape in the front of the class to do a demonstration and to show the class how the challenge works.
Wednesday September 14
Today we had a weitrd wednesday challenge where we had to trim down a wooden block to as close to 2 inches as possible. Mr Miller created the challenge and thought that all hte verterans wouldnt be at school so he randomly assigned us to groups.
wed2Thrusday September 15
We brought in some hardboard today that we are going to have to cut, the sawhorses were missing so we had to use the table saw. We are using up a lot of duct tape going through these prototypes. we also might need to adjust the angle of our Hardboard funnel,and make the hole bigger so that the fish can to fall down into the glass. that also might present some difficulties in the height of our machine which possible could cost us our idea of the Kevin Arm, or catapult.
Friday September 16
Yesturday we played la canada and beat them 35-27. it would have been a shutoutr but when we put in second and thrid strings, they started to change their formations and we ended up letting them score
Week 7
Monday September 19
Today Dr Neat talked to us about getting a unified funnel for all the devices that are concepted and fabricated. Most of the day was spent CADing and working on inproving any flaws towards the final design.
Tuesday September 20
Today Kirk Ian and I worked on proof of concepts for the kevin arm. We basically strengthened the parts and came up with either motorization of the arm or bungy's to get a quick release.
Wednesday September 21
Today watched over the fabrication of the funnel because the people that were fabricating the funnel are not in fabrication and therefore could cause an unnessisary danger if they us a tool inproperly.(screwing around with the mill and steel saw)
Thursday September 22
Today i worked on my website because there is grading today. I havent really paid much attention to it just because jlp takes a lot of time away from writing the updates. I amalso writing tomorrows post today because i will probibly not have time to filezilla tomorrow.
Friday September 23
Today mr wilton came and we talked about our progress and where we are in the process of CADs and prototypes.
Week 8
Monday September 26
Today the class went over grades and how grades were judged. I found out my links didnt work for some reason. Im not sure why but i will look into it.
Tuesday September 27
Today jpl people went into the shop to work on the the various contraptions. Since Kevin has not finished the CAD I was told to help mr miller teach the new people how to use the metal ban saw and how to make it so that the metal doesnt have sharp edges.
Wednesday September 28
I am looking into what is wrong with my website and how to improve it. ( i might add pictures and gifs)
Thursday September 29
I oversaw what kevin was doing and proved to kirk that photoshop is on the CAD computers.
Friday September 30
Presented to Mr wilton the final CAD and gained his thoughts on the subject.
October
Week 9
Monday October 3
Today we scraped last years game peices to get wood for the kevin arm.
Tuesday October 4
I used the bansaw to cut out peices for the kevin arm.Mostly two by fours but then i had to help some people cut out wood for a arch bridge.
Wednesday October 5
Short periods today cant remember why but we got more peices cut today.
Thursday October 6
Today i finished cutting out wood and cut out some holes for the kevin arm.
Friday October 7
Keilah and connor presented their design since they didnt finish last time.
Week 10
tuesday October 11
Today I got more drawings so i cut out the pieces of wood needed. i also watched a video on sound waves and how they affect the enviroment around us.
wednesady October 12
We helped Kevin drill holes into the wood to make axel holes.
thursday October 13
I Basically just cut more wood peices while kevin marked out hte pieces. Getting close to assembly time.
friday October 14
We demonstrated Cole and sam's device and Mr Wilton Criticed it and gave them ways to improve the effectivness of it.
Week 11
Monday October 17
today i cut of the metal bars for the kevin arm while kevin assembled the wood for the structure.
Tueday October 18
Today Ian And I welded the kevin arm together. I might have melted the end piece but once i grind it down it wont be as noticable.
Wednesday October 19
Today was a really short day because of the PSAT but i grinded down most of the end to where it looks acceptable.
Thursday October 20
Today i am doing a mass website update because ive been busy with everything above. Everything from monday september 19 had been writen today. because grading is happening this weekend and theres no school tomorrow for students only. all facuilty have to still come so have fun Mr. Miller and Dr. Neato.
Week 12
Monday October 24
today Ian and i cut the ring for the kevin arm and i filed down most of it to smooth.
Tuesday OCtober 25
today was spent helping kevin drill holes and put together the assembly.
Wednesday October 26
today we spent the greater part of the period helping kevin assemble the frame and then it was spent watching cole and sam fix various minor things to their devise.
Thursday October 27
Today was the first test of the devise with everything ready and the first test went perfectly, the second however broke my weld. I think the major problem was that ian told my to not weld the bottom and the bottom not welded caused it to break.
Friday October 28
toady we told Mr wilt0n about our device and showed the class how it works.
November
Week 13
Monday October 31
TOday i grinded down the welds so that sam and cole could reweld it and weld the bottom as well(glarring at you ian)
Tuesday November 1
Today I helped kevin attach an add-on to the arm to make sure it keeps all the water in during launch.
Wednesday November 2
Today we finished attachi8ng the add on to the arm and then we did some testing.
Thursday November 3
Today was spent sitting for the most part while kevin drew out the new funnel attachment to make sure the water stays in the cup. Ian and i almost got to cut but hunter dissassembed the table saw and so we spent the last 10 minutes re assembling it.
Friday November 4
Today the jpl group spent the time presenting to the class. I also have come to realize over the last 5 weeks that the people that arent in teh project realy couldnt care less about what we did.
So i went to Blizzcon over the weekend and it was really fun. There were terrific cosplayers including a family of murlocs. I was able to watch the HotS finals and the Starcraft finals. After school Friday i went and walked around and bought items for myself and Daniel. And the Second Day I spent Playing the privatly released Overwatch Character Sombra. I was able to spot a couple Reinhardt cosplayers and it ws funny to see the person try to pick up their hammer when it fell. At the closing ceremony Weird Al Yancovich preformed a bunbch of his songs that were quite funny including "Party in the CIA" Which was the perfect song while playing any game BTW. Overall i had an ameizing time and I hope i will be able to next year.
Week 14
Monday November 5
Today is the day before election day so it was a lot of worrying and "RIP America"s but we were able to get some on the cuts for the new funnel done.
Tuesday November 6
Today Kirk and I got more of the cuts done while alvin continued to piss people off.
Wednesday November 7
Today i found out Trump is the new president of the united states even though Hillary beat trump in most popular vote by over 2 million. We also finished cutting out the funnel.
Thursday November 8
today we did our last presentation to Mr Wilton and we were very optimistic with our chances. (funnel is in the middle of assembly )
Friday November 9

Week 15
Monday November 14
Today we got half way through assembling the funnel and it seems to be going well.
Tuesday November 15
Today we finished assembling the the funnel and Kevin Calked the corners and edges of it so it wont leak as much.
Wednesday November 16
Today we hydrophobed the funnel to keep the water from sticking to the spray paint. After that we did a bit of testing and replaced the fishing line.
Thursday November 17
Today is the last day to work on the jpl challenge and it was filled with anger and minor tweaks. The only minor problem was that the spray paint countered the hydrophobic spray nad while the water beaded it didnt roll down like we would have hoped.
Friday November 18
Tdoay we presented to the class the final products. Alvin's group's constuctuion was about 70% done so they would be DQed if they entered. so that means Jacob's group will be joining the kevin arm and cole and sam's device.
THANKSGIVING BREAK
Week 16
Monday November 28
Today was the first day back from thanksgiving break and i am really tired. All we did was work on a powerpoint to give as a presentation tomorrow.
Tuesday November 29
Today we presented the powerpoint and did a brief lessons learned. THe most interesting part was watching jacob fly.
Wedensday November 30
today we worked on our websites and watched youtube.
Thursday December 1
today we made our websites sparkle. And listened to random national anthems.
Friday December 2
Mr Wilton came to class and we talked about the experiences of the jpl competition and lessons learned.
